Does CIFS require Certificate Server? I have found that CIFS will load
without PKIS and advertise the NetWare server in the NT Domain but it the
NetWare server is inaccessible to a user who does not exist within the same
context as the server. This appears to be true despite the context being
listed in the Sys:etc/cifsctxs.cfg file. Running NMASMON shows a -1460
error when attempting authenticate on those servers that don't have
Certificate server installed
However, those servers that do have Certificate Server installed function as
expected. Users whose objects exists in containers other than that in which
the server exists can authenticate and access the file system.
I have not found any documentation that states that Certificate Server must
be installed for CIFS to function.
