I am testing CIFS on NW6 SP4 + CIFS update (from TID2968723) with pure XP
clients (i.e. no Netware client). Each client has 4 drive mappings to
separate volumes on the test server and each runs 4 DOS shells that run a
recursive batch file that writes a file, reads it to the screen, deletes
it then starts all over again (with me so far?).
My concern is that with just 14 clients connected the server utilisation
is already hitting 40%. Ultimately I want to connect 250+ clients through
CIFS - am I being optomistic? Has anyone out there got anywhere near this
number of client thru CIFS? Is CIFs man enough?
