We're looking into creating a near-line storage solution using Legato's
Diskxtender runs on a windows server, maps a drive to a volume and then
copies files that are untouched for a specified time to backup media. It
then purges the files from the monitored volume leaving a stub file that
evokes the retrieval process when a user attempts to access the file.
When I trained on Diskxtender recently the trainer guy reckoned that if the
Diskxtender server could map to a Netware volume as if it was an ordinary
Windows resource (i.e. via CIFS) then it would be able to do it's near-line
archiving thing.

Anybody ever tried this? Any reason why it wouldn't work?
