Is there any way to get a Linux samba client to recognize a file lock
placed on a file by a Windows client? We have a CIFS enabled volume with
some files (word, excel, etc.) that need to be available for
download/upload through a webgui client. It is possible that an internal
user may be editing a file from the Windows client while an outside user
downloads, edits and uploads the file through the web page. When the
Windows user saves the file, the webgui users changes are lost. We'd
like the webgui user to get a message that the file is in use. Is that
possible? BTW, we don't care about having the Linux box placing a lock
on any file. We are running NW 6.5 SP4a. The current Linux boxes are
running RHEL 4.
