I am a support engineer for F5 Networks, supporting F5 Networks VPN product
FirePass. We have a client that is using our FirePass to access network
shares on a NetWare 5.1 server, running NFA. The issue is that the share
folders are appearing but contents of the share are not being display/not

Background: the firepass OS is based off of Linux. It has a feature that
allows add/edit/write to Windows Files via shortcuts to the shares. The
FirePass supports CIFS/SMB traffic.

Question: what are the triggers that the NFA software uses to decipher
which OS is running on a client machine and thus which file system protocol
to use?
