Hi All,

I was wondering how to go about assigning an ip address to the domain
name
in NW6 DNS. I've got a client who has some 800 workstations who have
their
email server settings set to the name of their domain. It seems that
their
old DNS host was able to do so...

Here's what I mean. Their server settings in LookOut is
"domain-name.k12.mo.us" , rather than something like
"mail.domain-name.k12.mo.us"

I guess I need to know if there's a way to assign an IP address to
their
domain name. I tried setting up an A record to their email server,
then
assigned it the MX record, and I didn't think that would work, and itdidn't. I've been thought the DNS/DHCP manual, but wasn't able to
find
anything on this. I really don't want to have to make a change to
some 800
workstations!

Thanks in advance,

Mark
