We have Novell DHCP version 3.12c on a NetWare 5.1 SP5 server. From
time to time (every couple of months), it will stop issuing IP addresses
with no console errors but then abend on DHCPSRVR.NLM when issued an
UNLOAD DHCPSRVR.NLM or trying to down the server. The server does
contain a replica of the DNS/DHCP container objects. Up till now, we
have just lived with it, and rebooted the server to get things going
again, but a new problem last week causes me to look for an upgrade or
patches. We have new Dell computers with integrated Broadcom Gig-E nics,
and those particular machines will not receive IP addresses when Intel or
other NIC's can still retrieve them. We confirmed the problem by
rebooting the DHCP server, and then when it came back up, the
Dell/Broadcom machines could then get IP addresses. Can anyone suggest a
more stable version of DHCPSRVR.NLM? I can upgrade the server to NW 6.5
SP2 if necessary. I am looking for someone's advice and good experience
to upgrade/patch to a stable version.
