I have removed a record from one of my zones, ensuring the record is
removed from the reverse zone also. I have restarted named, restarted
the server. When I check the zones in consoleone the record is no-longer
there. The same when I check in iManager. I have even used the java
management utility. The record is deleted, or not visible (not sure is
this possible).

Yet an nslookup still shows this record. My clients can still resolve
the host to this name.

Just for background information, I deleted this record because I allowed
the DNS service to create hostnames automatically which has populated my
zone file with records.

Why am I still able to resolve this deleted record?
