I have installed Linux OES1 and Oracle 10Rg2 on a server. I have made the
oracle user the owner of /u01/app/oracle and modified the rights
chown -R oracle:oinstall /u01/app/oracle
chmod -R 775 /u01/app/oracle
I created an NCP volume on u01
ncpcon create volume u01 /u01
If I map a drive to /u01 from my windows pc and copy a file to
/u01/app/oracle It shows up with file rights of 600 owner=605 group=root.
If I am logged in as oracle, on the linux server, I don't have rights to
the, newly copied, file even though it is in a directory that I own and
have full rights to. In Netware the rights would flow down to any new
files or directories that were copied to a directory that that you already
had rights to. Is there a way to do that in Linux?
