I have a question regarding which method is best for updating

I created an application for Microsoft Office, it is an MSI application and
runs the MSI from an administrative install point on our server. I have
downloaded all the patches for the suite, and my question is this: is it
recommended to slipstream all the installs into the administrative install
point (using the command line 'msiexec /a filename.msi /p filename.msp
shorefilenams=true') or should I just add each of the msp files as patches
in the application object (under msi-> patches in console one). Are there
any caveats to doing it that way (like slipstream the service packs, but
then it's ok to do msp for smaller ones. What are the
advantages/disadvantages of doing either way?

Thanks for any help
