I've taken an image of a NTFS file system that takes up the whole of the drive (40gb).

I want to do two things.
1. Create two partitions of NTFS of 40% and 60% respecticvely.
2. Restore the NTFS image to the first partition.

When I do this Windows is unable to boot and keeps failing to a safe mode boot, if I restore the image to the whole drive instead of a partition, the image works fine.

The process is scripted and is as follows.

img pd1
img pd2
img pd3
img pd4
img pc1 ntfs 40%
img pc2 ntfs 60%
img pa1
img rp // a1:p1

Is there some sort of trick here as I can't seem to create an image of just the partition.
