We recently received a batch of Gateway E-2600D computers. When trying to
image them they fail to get DHCP information once they have booted to
Linux. I downloaded the latest Realtek 8169S drivers and compiled and
added them to initrd. Still no luck. We then installed a 3com 3c920 NIC
and tried again. Same error. I did a packet capture and see no signs of
any DHCP requests being sent. It really looks like a Linux driver issue,
but I would think that the 3com nics would take care of that. Any ideas
would be appreciated.
