We have laptops running Windows XP SP2, Novell Client 4.91, and ZfD
agent 7 SP1. The problem I am seeing is that machines with the Novell
client and ZfD agent will not register when outside the firewall. If I
remove the Novell client, they work. If I put the Novell Client back
on, they don't work.

If you log into a laptop workstation only, shouldn't the agent pass the
local Windows credentials to the middle tier server? Or, shouldn't the
workstation still register regardless of the local credentials if it is
already imported?

I have installed the agent with the default login settings; that is,
not to display the middle tier login. The way I read the
documentation, this should allow pass-through authentication when
logging into only the workstation.

I have double-checked the middle tier proxy user and as far as I can
tell, it's working--it's logged in on the system console on the
back-end server and the permissions are set according to the
documentation. And, workstations that do NOT have the Novell Client
installed and are outside our firewall work the way they are supposed

Our backend is NetWare 6.5 SP6, and we have our middle tier running on
a Linux box.
