We did an upgrade from ZENworks 4 to ZENworks 7 a few months back. I
just started getting this error (only on my PC that I know of, no users
have complained yet) a few weeks ago:

"ZENworks Desktop Management Agent Inventory Scanner has encountered a
problem and needs to close."

The event log shows the following error:

Event ID: 1000
Faulting application zfdinvscanner.exe, version 7.0.0.0, faulting
module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x0003426d.

I ran DebugView from SysInternals and this is the log file:

I have tried to reinstall ZENworks 7, tried deleting my PC from
ConsoleOne and then reinstalling ZENworks 7, and I have tried completly
uninstalling (manually removing registry entries), none of which
worked. The problem keeps returning.

I've read that users have had this problem in previous versions of
ZENworks (4 and 6.5) and they are usually fixed with an update from
Novell. I haven't found anything like that for this problem. I've
just found other posters with the 7.0 problem with no responses or
suggestions.

I will probably end up re-imaging my machine but I would like to
resolve this on my PC (rather than image) just in case if users start
to encounter this issue.

If anyone could help, it would be appreciated.

Thanks!
