Someone has previously posted about a problem with the zen 6.5 disc and
PCMCIA. It appeared that DHCP would load before the cardmgr services were
started and the PCMCIA network adapter would never get an IP address.
This bug exists with the newest beta Zen 6.5 disc released on 11/22/04 as
well.

the solution: (network.s file I'm showning is the beta version)

In the network.s file:
> #pcmcia.s has not been run yet
> echo "Load Pcmcia" >> $NETWORKLOGFILE
> . /bin/pcmcia.s
>>>>>>> if [ $NETDEVICE"a" = "NONEa" ]; then

> DetectNetDevice
> fi

SHOULD READ:
if [ $NETDEVICE"a" = "NONEa" -o $NETDEVICE"a" = "a" ]; then

The reason being when pcmcia.s file is loaded:

if [ $? != "0" ] ; then
echo "$NETDEVICE did not come up.">>$PCMCIALOGFILE
unset NETDEVICE
unset PCMCIADETECTED
#other devices may need the pcmcia drivers
#rmlaptopmodules
fi

Novell unset's NETDEVICE before returning back to network.s! So when they
do a comparision, the value is not set to 'NONE' it isn't defined at all!

Thought I would post this for anyone else suffering from the problem.
