I've been given the task of creating a single image file for our many machines around campus but have a question about the process. From everything that I have read so far the steps are to take an older PC install winxp onto that PC configure it to the way you want your image to be then sysprep the machine for deployment as an image. How do you handle the newer machines that don't have hardware supported by the o/s in your image. For example we use Dell and HP computers all running windows xp sp1. I have to have a base image for each type of computer that includes the drivers specific to that computer. When we received our computers last year windows did not detect the network or sound cards and a driver was needed. What is the best way to handle getting these drivers onto the computer?
