Hello,

just exerienced the following on NW6.0.5 + ZDM6.5.2.0:

I created a new image of a WinXP PC, while it was running to save the image to
the server I already stepped over to one of the destination machines, that has a
much bigger drive. So I first created the larger partition and pretyped the

img rp //nw03goe/nw03vol1/zenworks/images/XPSP2-ONL-pre5-017.zmg a1:p1

and then not intentionally hit enter. I was quite astonisched, that the restore
process started and thought: Oh, nice, it can read the image file while it's
created, like e.g. DVD-HD-Recorder offer a timeshift replay option, NICE :))

Well, as the image was written about 35% and restored on the other side about 15%
the server experienced an ABEND, I guess due to this
"read-image-on-the-fly-while-it's-written" condition:

ABEND:
Running process IMGSERV connect process
stack:

a8 7d e7 ce 40 41 61 81 ac 0a 8d b8 f9 c7 f7 ce
00 00 00 00 46 02 00 00 c8 a8 7d 81 00 00 00 00
d7 a2 5f ca 00 02 08 14 40 41 61 81 00 00 00 00

<s>uspend, the server hanged (ALT shows no top line), debugger, ? ->

previous: .... LIBNSS.NLM|nssSpinLock
current
next: .... LIBNSS.NLM|nssSpinLock

So might be its really no good idea to do such restores ;-)

Regards, Rudi.
