I noticed that Novell have conveniently included smbmount in the latest 6.5
imaging materials. However, I can't figure out how to get it to work to
connect to a CIFS share on a NetWare server. I've googled to within an inch
of my life without learning anything. Everything I have found that seems
relevant to the error I get seems to be being posted by people who are
getting this error while trying to talk to Samba on a UNIX-style box, such
that they talk about modifying configuration files that don't exist on a
NetWare server (e.g., creating username and password pairs in configuration
files on the server).

If I issue this command:

mount -t smbfs -o username=user,password=password //server/share /mnt/point

I always get:

Creating lame upcase table
creating lame lowcase table
(4-digit number) session setup failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (Bad
password -name/password pair in a Tree Connect or Session Setup are
SMB connection failed

I get the same results if I use smbmount directly.

I get the same results whether I've put in a plain username or a username
plus context.

Anyone have any ideas how this command is supposed to work?
