I have recently been getting a lot of errors when building MSI's related to
non-advertised shortcuts. A typical error in AdminStudio will look like:
"A non-advertised shortcut must be created for Icon63A89095.exe in folder
[ProgramMenuFolder]Heinle\Système-D. Autorepair cannot be enabled for this
Cannot create icon for shortcut 'Launch Système-D' due to unknown file
Once one of these packages is installed, the shortcut will have no icon and
will not be pointed to the executable for the application. The executable
typically is there and can be run, but the shortcut is bad. I can usually
force down a working shortcut, but I'm really wondering what is going on.
Can anyone tell me what a "non-advertised shortcut" is?
