We are using universal imaging (the same base image) for all our
workstations. After restoring our base image to a 755, Windows XP will
not boot - it either continuously reboots or it dumps with a BSOD STOP 7b
error. Apparently, this is a problem with Windows XP and AHCI. The 755's
SATA controller uses AHCI by default, which is necessary for some of the
newer SATA features like NCQ and hot-plugging.

Does anyone know of a work-around OTHER THAN rebuilding the base
image(with AHCI drivers included) or disabling AHCI in the BIOS?
