I recently upgraded a Netware 6 server to Netware 6.5.3 server.
I have this Startup.ncf file:
######## End PSM Drivers ########
LOAD IDECD.CDM
LOAD SCSIHD.CDM
rem LOAD NWTAPE.CDM
LOAD NWASPI.CDM
######## End CDM Drivers ########

LOAD IDEATA.HAM SLOT=10005
LOAD ADPT160M.HAM SLOT=801
LOAD ADPT160M.HAM SLOT=802
######## End HAM Drivers ########

The problem is that it won't load the second copy of ADPT160M.HAM
saying its a bad slot number. But this set of commands was brought
forward from the 6.0 installation, where it did load.

The hardware is an AIC 7899 chip set on the motherboard.

I tried downloading the files from the Adaptec site and restarted, but
got the same result. As I look at the various copies of this file on
the drive, it looks like I was using the same driver in the 6.0
version.

I've also tried starting with the server -ns option, and loading the
commands one at a time by typing them in. I was unable to get the
driver to load a second time this way either. I tried loading it with
no arguments, just LOAD ADPT160M.HAM and then trying to choose the
right slot choice that comes up as a suggestion. It suggests, as the
second line,
pci.instance_C (HIN 10008), but when I select this, it also fails.

Why is this failing to load a second time? It used to. I need it to
get our tape drive "seen".
