Does anyone know if there is any way to suppress or modify the error
message that is displayed when a client using contextless login fails to
contact its designated ldap server?

I ask because I'm trying to find a solution for student laptops that may
need to be used outside of our network. I don't mind them timing out and
asking to login to windows before they can login as a local guest account,
but I'd like to avoid loud beeping error messages that will confuse them
(even if the only option is to click OK).

Even if I could customize the text of the message to say "You are outside
of the network, blah, blah," it would be an improvement.

I'm hoping that the message is not hard-coded into a system dll of some
sort but I'm afraid it is. Anyone know for sure?
