A small network with a single server, installed with NetWare 6.5 SP6 and GroupWise 7 SP2, is providing critical services.
So a backup service, which will provide users with almost instant access to data in the event of a main server failure, is required.
This must also provide an emergency backup mail server resource with up to date GroupWise data.
The data on the backup server would need to be synchronized with the primary server, and presumably GroupWise would need to be installed on the backup server, but not running, until the primary server failed.
In the event of a primary server failure GW could then be started on the backup server and SMPT redirected to the backup server IP.
There is a limited budget available for this project
Would cluster services be the right route ?
And could the backup server be run in a VMware environment ?
