So I've been trying to build an OES1 SP2 server cluster for a period now
and I keep running into Red Carpet issues with patching.

Background: From a fresh install of OES SP2 (from an HTTP repository) I
selected the Minimal Graphical Install package category. I then went to
detailed install and added the following;

Novell Cluster Services
Novell eDirectory
Novell NCP Server
Novell LUM
Novell SMS
Novell NSS
rsync
wget
oes-release (wasn't autoselected)
gcc
kernel-source
screen
sudo
compat-sles8 (HP PSP Dependency)

I tell the install I'll configure OES later, and the install completes
without incident.

I run;
rug act -s 1 MYACTCODE MYEMAIL@MYDOMAIN
rug ref
rug sub oes

No problems so far. I'm subscribed rug pl shows tons of stuff, all seems
well. I now proceed with updating Red Carpet with;

rug pi patch-11461

Then restart and refresh the Red Carpet service with;

rcrcd restart && rug ref

Everything is good and now I run;

rug pin --entire-channel oes

Everypatch is fine accept:
Warning: Error installing patch 'patch-11441'.
Warning: Error installing patch 'patch-11549'.
Warning: Error installing patch 'patch-11920'.

It is a serious problem because without those I don't get Kernel 2.6.7-286
which means adminfs fails to modprobe which means NCS will not function.
I can force the packages in with --nodeps --force on RPM, but is this
really the solution? Why is it failing?

Is there a better/proper way to be handling this? Also from a fresh
install is it a good idea to patch up before configure Novell services
like eDirectory, or should I be configuring them from the SP2 base then
patching the services? Does it not matter.

Thanks for any guidance.
