I have a simple application that just copies a file from a network drive to the local computer.

It is workstation associated, but fails saying it can't copy the file unless I give the workstation object rights to the network folder where the file is.

On my other applications (MSI), I have just given the application rights to the folder and it seems to have worked out, but for the simple application, setting the rights in the application doesn't seem to be enough.

Am I missing something, or do I have to give the workstation object rights to the folder? Why can't I just assign the application rights to the folder so I don't have to permanently give any user that logs onto the workstation access to that network path?

Thanks,

Mike
