I know that the Notes gateway is deisgned to sync in Groupwise addresses
and convert Groupwise addresses into the domain.po:user format. And I
understand the design point -- that's enough info so that the Gateway can
always uniquely identify the target user.

But, given that userID's are unique, is there any way to force it to use
first.last, last.first, or any other more usable address? The
domain.po:user format makes it impossible for Notes users to really
idnetify sender's in the inbox, and is actually a spoofing security

I was thinking about any of the following:
1) use of aliases so it picks up a different name
2) using all SMTP addressing and routing
3) drowning myself in single malt
