Hello. We've run into an issue lately regarding the addition of registry
files using ZEN Image Explorer. We're running ZENWorks 6.5, base, and
Windows XP Pro SP2 with the latest MS patches. Lenovo Thinkpads and

I create a sysprepped image, upload it, open it with image explorer, and
add two registry files to the image that, traditionally, are merged into
the registry on the reboot after the Windows minisetup. One registry file
enables an autoadmin login so that the workstation logs onto the network
at the next reboot and the other calls the script we use to rename the
workstation and join to e-directory/domain.

This method worked flawlessly for a couple years. The past year or so, it
seems to have broken. Most of the time, a freshly imaged workstation,
after the minisetup completes, will boot to a Novell login instead of
passing through to the desktop and executing the script. Some times it
will boot to the desktop, as though the autoadmin reg entry enables, but
it won't kick off the install script. It seems like some times one of the
reg files is merged and other times neither of them is. Once in a great
while they will both merge and everything works flawlessly. When it
fails, if I look in the Prog FilesZenworksimaging folder, both .REG files
are still there.

I haven't been able to find any information about how this reg file merge
process works. The only lead I have is that during the image creation,
I'm adding a reg entry that sets ZISWIN Clear to enable. Not sure if that
has something to do with it, but I'm pretty sure that entry has always
been there.

Thanks in advance for your help.
