I've been unable to consistently push out the ZCM client and have it
work. I have listed below my results so far. I listed my setup at the
bottom.

1. I uninstalled ZCM 10 and went to 10.0.1. After doing so I
uninstalled the old client on my PC and pushed out the new client and it
worked fine (except for the "Failed to process launch in user space {0}
{1}." bug, see TID: 3695281).

2. I pushed the ZCM client to my test VM and it also worked right (same
bug as #1).

3. I uninstalled the ZCM client from my other test PC (not a VM) and
pushed out the new client. It installed and appears to work fine (same
bug as #1) but in the ZCM console website it shows the PC as "Unable to
connect through IP Address or Host Name" I noticed it also have several
other error messages:

"Failed to process action:
Novell.Zenworks.Cache.ZenCacheNoSourceFoundExcepti on: "None of the
source locations could be found" at
Novell.Zenworks.Cache.FileCache.CopyFile(FileCache Entry entry, Progress
progress, Boolean bypassThrottle, Int64 priority) at Novell.Zenworks.Cache."

and

"The action launcher configuration policy (ID:launcher configuration
policy) failed, but the action set is set to continue on failure."

and

"The handler
Novell.Zenworks.PolicyHandlers.LauncherConfig.Laun cherConfigurationPolicyHandler
thew the following exception:
Novell.Zenworks.Cache.ZenCacheNoSourceFoundExcepti on: "None of the
source locations could be found" at
Novell.Zenworks.Cache.FileCache.CopyFile(FileCache Entry entry, Progress
progress, Boolean bypassThrottle, Int64 priority) at Novell.Zenworks.Cache."

My guess is that those error possibly relate back to the bug in #1 and
not necessarily the communication error. I can go to both the test PC
and ZCM server and ping each other by hostname and IP without problems.
It seems to update if I make changes, but it concerns me that it shows
as not communicating with the server.

4. I scheduled the ZCM client to install to a training PC for further
testing and it stays at pending. When I did the install of my PC and
the VM earlier it ran immediately. In order for it to start I had to
reboot the ZCM server and then it starts the install. When I did
testing with several PCs yesterday it did the same until I restarted the
ZCM server.

After it did the install it shows the status as Registering. When I
connect to the computer and look at the properties for the ZCM client it
shows the servers as Unavailable. I repeated the same on a second
training PC and the same happened except the install started right away.

I looked in the logs (C:\Program
Files\Novell\ZENworks\logs\LocalStore\zmd-messages.log) and found
several error referring to problems talking back to the server:

I found TID: 3203990 to see what I can do to troubleshoot. The
certificate for the server is installed the same on the functioning PCs.
I'm also able to ping the server and PC by host name and IP address so
that doesn't see to be it.

Any other suggestions on things to try? I can send logs as needed.

Thanks,
Matt
