Original post: 29 Nov 07 04:06pm AuthLDAPAuthoritative error

I cannot seem to configure a secure folder authenticated by eDirectory,
despite following Novell document 3129578 faithfully. Apache server chokes
on the directive 'AuthLDAPAuthoritative On', refusing to (re-)start the
HTTP service if that line is present in a .conf file.

Can anyone help with this? It would be greatly appreciated.

[The error]
Syntax error on line 14 of /etc/apache2/conf.d/secure.conf:
Invalid command 'AuthLDAPAuthoritative', perhaps misspelled or defined by
a module not included in the server configuration.

[The file]
Alias /secure "/usr/novell/secure"

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^/secure https://%{SERVER_NAME}/secure [L,R]

<Directory /usr/novell/secure>
Options Indexes Multiviews
AllowOverride None
Order deny,allow
Allow from all
AuthType Basic
AuthName "Protected"
require valid-user
AuthLDAPAuthoritative On
AuthLDAPURL ldaps://

[Yes, the 'secure' folder exists, user 'wwwrun' is a full rights trustee
of that folder, and it contains the document 'index.html'.
