I have an SUSE 10.1 server running OES 2. I am unable to purchase new backup software so I am using nbackup. That works ok...I am able to backup and restore data successfully. For more protection and quick restores The SAN that OES is running on creates a snapshot each evening. After connecting via the iSCSI initiator I am able to see /dev/sdc as my SAN and /dev/sdc1 as Novell Netware. This is an existing pool. Is there an easy way that I can bring the pool online in Linux, grab files I need, then dismount that pool without rebooting the server? On my Windows servers, it will show up as a drive letter and I can grab what I need, however it doesn't seem that easy on Linux. Any help would be appreciated.
