Hello I have posted two enhancement requests - detailed below.

If anyone thinks these would be good ideas please post on this thread and
anyone who has any official contact with Novell and also thinks these are
good ideas please take note of any posters and try apply some pressure to
Novell to get this implemented.

I think ZCM 10 has the potential to be a big improvement over ZEN 7 but
the product still looks very new and, frankly, a bit underdone - I think
some feature enhancements could really improve the product.

Enhancement Request 1
=====================

_Problem Description:_
The enhancement request is NOT for ZEN 7 SP1 but for ZENWorks
Configuration Management 10.1 but there is no dropdown on this web page
for that.

I'd like the ability to set default replication rules for the enterprise
and each bundle folder in ZCM10.

At the moment you can only include/exclude content servers on a per
application basis which is quite labour intensive and can only be done
after the bundle is created and may consequently get forgotten.

_Proposed Solution:_
To be able to set default content replication rules on each bundle folder
as per the example below.

Folder 'New York'
-> Default Replication for all subordinate applications
-----> Included Servers FS-NY-01, FS-NY-02
-----> Excluded Servers FS-LA-01, FS-LA-02

Folder 'Los Angeles'
-> Default Replication for all subordinate applications
-----> Included Servers FS-LA-01, FS-LA-02
-----> Excluded Servers FS-NY-01, FS-NY-02

In order to replicate content in the 'New York' folder to the servers in
Los Angeles I'd have to manually include them as content servers (but
only because I'd designed my installation in that way - by specifying the
above folder-level rules).

_Perceived Benefit:_
The new content replication feature of ZCM 10 is really cool and
potentially saves a lot of labour compared with previous versions of
ZENworks but to avoid unintentional impact on WAN links and server disk
space usage this feature requires better granularity of control. Adding
folder level default replication rules (servers included or excluded by
default) would greatly assist in this.

Enhancement Request 2
=====================

_Problem Description:_
ZENWorks Configuration Management 10.1 but there is no dropdown on this
web page for that.

When you are setting up a bundle in ZCM 10, you only have the option to
include/exclude other content servers AND if you include them there is a
global setting under Configuration->Content Replication that determines a
the frequency at which the replication is attempted and the maximum
bandwidth to allow content replication to use.

In Australia WAN links are mighty expensive and so consequently we need
to be very sensitive to their use/abuse. It would be better to be able to
control content replication in a more granular way per content server
(usually there will be a primary server at each WAN site and each WAN
site will have different link speeds).

_Proposed Solution:_
To allow per server content replication rules such as the following ...

Content Replication Between Master Server And Following Servers
Server FS-NY-01 (Master)
Time to allow replication - any
Max Bandwidth - no limit

Server FS-NY-02 (same WAN site)
Time to allow replication - any
Max Bandwidth - no limit

Server FS-LA-01 (different WAN site - 4Mbps WAN link)
Time to allow replication - 9pm to 6am
Max Bandwidth - 2Mbps

_Perceived Benefit:_
The new content replication feature of ZCM 10 is really cool and
potentially saves a lot of labour compared with previous versions of
ZENworks but to avoid unintentional impact on WAN links this feature
requires better granularity of control. Adding per server level (rather
than global) replication constraints would greatly assist in this.
