Hi We are seeing an odd problem where by we get a segmentation fault when trying to perform a backup on one of our OES2 servers. We are using backup exec 11D 7170. The media server is a windows server. When the media server attempts to connect to the remote agent.

Segmentation fault

At which point beremote crashes and dumps us out to a prompt. We have several other OES2 servers with the same configuration inclusive of Backup solution which seem to work successfully. After comparing the windows server options for the working agents against the remote agent that does not work all are the same. After some serious trial and testing we managed to get the remote agent not to segment by enabling the following option on the media server.

Advanced Disk-based Backup But this is not needed on any of the others, has anyone seen this problem? any insight would be appreciated as to why and how we may go about getting the remote agent not to segment with the standard options.

Apologies if this turns out to be a double post i posted on the old style forums first :)

Regards
Barry
