I am trying to setup an image that I can push out that will allow a machine to be initially registered if it is not and re-registered if it already exists.
I am following the steps from another post modified for my environment:
-Install the agent over top of the Zen7 agent
- Browse to HKLM\Software\Novell\Zenworks\PreAgent and delete the GUIDentry-----THIS DOES NOT EXIST UNTIL A REBOOT HAS BEEN PERFORMED (although I will not reboot)
- Browse to HKLM\Software\Novell\Zenworks\Remote Management\Agent anddelete any subkeys with machine names on them.
- Run C:\Program Files\Novell\Zenworks\Bin\Preboot\ziswin
- Click Edit, clear imagesafe data, and save - Click No to the questionabout "just imaged"
- Cut image.

The first image is fine, it will register fine. Upon a re-image it does not re-register.

Now one important note is I am using a USB key to do the imaging and using the USB key has some negative impacts on the ISD.

One important question I have is what data in the ISD is needed to re-register a machine?? What does ZEN10 look for to match the machine with what it already has in its DB?? I was assuming it was just Computer Name and the GUID, is that correct???
