I have a data pool of approx 60GB with assorted volumes using all the available pool space. I'd like to essentially merge volumeA and volumeB into a new larger volumeA. Can someone correct me if i'm wrong:

I will move data from volumeB into volumeA, then delete volumeB. Next i will resize volumeA with the NSS manager to include the free pool space recovered by deleting volumeB.

My main concern is protecting the data in volumeA... can i resize on the fly and maintain the existing file structure , or do i have to do a full backup (i will anyway, better safe than sorry) and restore to the new larger volumeA once it has been grown?
