I'm hoping someone can shed some light on the correct setting on Netware for opportunistic locking. We are a K-12 school district that is preparing for the upcoming online testing. The testing program writes a file out to the student's home drive that resides on our SAN storage. During the test, after every 4 questions, this file is overwritten with new testing data. Currently these tests are hanging when writing out to this network storage.

I did find a Novell article that recommends the following configuration on the Netware server:

SET LEVEL 2 OPLOCKS ENABLED = OFF
SET CLIENT FILE CACHING ENABLED = OFF

Is this a default setting in Netware 6.5 SP7? Has anyone added these entries to their autoexec.ncf file?
