Can you add a NDPS printer in Vista?

I have SP1 for Vista and am trying to add a printer through NDPS.

I can't seem to get it figured out. I apologize if this topic has already been brought up.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    ehalverson,

I'd recommend that you move your printing system to iPrint instead.
NDPS is no longer supported and there's no NDPS support for Vista AFAIK.

iPrint however is the technology to use and has been for some years, and
    it does support Vista.

In addition to what iclas said, Vista support is only provided through
iPrint in NetWare 6.5 SP7 or in OES2. Older NetWare or OES versions will
not accept the uploading of Vista drivers even if you use an iManager
version that knows about Vista drivers for iPrint.

    I tried Iprint.

The clent installs fine, but when I click on a printer, it keeps asking if I want to install the client.

    ????

Might be the Novell side. Not sure.

Rolling out Vista this summer, and need to add Novell printers to machines.

    Thank you for replying.

It almost sounds like an activex control issue in Internet Explorer. Out of curiosity have you tried installing firefox and tried installing a printer?

Either way.. it doesn't sound like a major issue and it will need to be addressed regardless.

As others have mentioned, you should move to iPrint in order to gain Vista
support. However there is a third-party solution to allow you to print to
NDPS printers & NetWare queues from Vista.

It was an Activex issue. Thank you for that.

    But now I get this error;

"No printer driver has been associated with this printer."
    Error code 65550

We have about 40 printers, and everyone I tried, I get the same message.

They do install fine with XP and Iprint.

I am going to Google that error code and see if I can come up with something.

Well, did you associate a Vista driver with your printer?

    I am such a retard.

Why did I think the XP drivers would work?

Thank you for wakeing me up.

I just want to say that I appreciate all the responses and the help. Sometimes I wonder about myself. LOL

I will add a Vista driver in the morning and see how it goes. But I get the feeling it might work.

    Again thank you.

Would anyone mind if I just blamed Bill gates? :)
