I actually had this working perfectly until a few weeks ago. I was using AS 9.1 on a NetWare 6.5 SP7 box and was backing up files across the wire on an NSS volume on an OES2 box. All that I had to do was changed the TSAFS option from Linux to NetWare and Arcserve saw it as a NetWare server and everything just worked.

Several weeks ago, after a reboot of the OES2 box, it all stopped working and I can't get it to work again.

When I look through iManager the TSA mode always shows Linux, I change it and save, but the next time it's linux again. When I check the contents of /etc/opt/novell/sms/tsafs.conf, these settings don't match what I see in iManager. When I make changes in iManager, they don't seem to be reflected in this file. Is this not where the config is read from?

Any suggestions on troubleshooting this?

From the AS9 server console, I can browse the file system and configure a job to back up. I get a
"Failed to login to TSA on server X, fffdffd7"
Failed to login to the TSA
E0015 Job x: Backup Operation Failed.

It properly estimates the number of files to be backed up, but gives a reason of "Disk Read Problem"
