We started using iPrint a couple of years ago and the manager was loaded with the default (ip address). We now want to switch the manager to provide printers using the DNS address which I know is fairly simple on the back end.

The problem is that when the client on the workstation detects the change it deletes the users existing printers and randomly misses adding them back again. So a user with 3 printers may end up getting two of them back and not always the same two.

We're thinking that the only solution to this is to set up a second iprint server using DNS and recreating the same 1200 printers then cutting people over in groups. This as you may well imagine will cause duplication of effort for our administrators until such time as we have everyone converted.

Has anyone out there been through the same process? any help would be appreciated.
