Well this week, I took my main server and backup server off my HP 5372TX
switch and moved it to a HP 2824 switch because the former does not
support jumbo frames. The results were pleasing.

I'm backing up roughly 4.3TB of data, and rates have always been
consistently 1130-1150MB/min range with LTO2. The highest rate I ever
saw was 1201. The previous 3 weeks 1135MB/Min. After enabling jumbo
frames on client and server, this weeks backup was 1482MB/min which
shaved 12 hours off the time. This is larger video files, and thus they
have a higher rate than my other volume which is much smaller files.
That backup is still running and about to hit the verify stage. I'll
post it's results sometime tomorrow.
