I'm on a roll with this stuff now...

So, I used the migration utility to move from old hardware to new hardware and it worked great (for the most part).

I have a different server that is running out of drive space. I want to move 275GB of "group" data and home directories to new volumes on the SAN. Actually, I want to copy the data and file rights to the new volumes, leaving the existing data and directory structure intact (for now) and removing rights.

From what I'm reading, I can use the consolidation utility for this, even though it's all on the same server, just new volumes?

I did a test on another server, copying my home directory from its existing volume to another volume and it worked perfectly, all data and rights copied.

This would just be waaaay too easy...

Can I use this?
