My ZCM 10.1 server (SUSE Linux 10 with embedded Sybase database) has been plagued with issues regarding space right from the first install. Following the recommendations from the install guide (and the consultant who did the install), only the content-repo was mounted onto our Mass Storage Device. During the initial IP discovery, the server crashed - out of disk space. The var/opt/novell/zenworks/discovery folder was huge as compared to the content-repo which was virtually empty. For the next rebuild the IP discovery crashed the server again this time the database.log file (39gb) and the Sybase .mini_core file (2.8gb).

I guess what I am looking for is two-fold: What is the optimal structure setup for mounting ZCM folders onto MSD so that the 3rd rebuild will be the last rebuild? and Secondly - although not necessarily an install issue - why would an IP discovery take up 39gb of space? We only have approximately 1500 used IP addresses in total on our network...
