Netware 6.5 SP7, Zen 7 SP1 IR3a with SLES10SP2 boot kernel.

I've got a Toshiba Satpro L300 with a Realtek (yuck) 8101E network card.

Default SLES10SP2 / -patch and -patch 2 kernel seems to suggest the r8169 driver but don't load automaticly.

Verder/Device ID do indicate this driver.

Trying to load manually, the screen give's me something that looks like a very unhappy CPU.

So I booted my vmware SLED10SP2 and opened initrd.
Downloaded r8101-1.009.00.tar.bz2
compiled the driver r8101
Added the driver r8101
modified linuxrc.config, modules.pcimap and module.config

repackeged initrd and tested again.

The newid line show's but the driver does not get loaded.

So I get the menu where I go to kernel modules, Load Network Card, and ... The r8101 looks like the suggested driver. I load this driver and all goes well.

So why doesn't the imaging kernel load this driver automaticly?

Alt-F4 might show the answer:
r8101: module not supported by Novell, setting U taint flag.

How do I solve this?
