This morning on my way home from the store (had to pick up today's paper) I came across a cat along the street. I stopped, rolled down the window, and said, "Hi." It meowed at me and took one tentative step toward me.
I pulled over to the side, got out (which it seemed happy about), knelt down, and put my hand out. It came jogging across the street, hesitated, then started rubbing it's head and sides against my hand. No tags, no sign of having worn a collar - nothing. It still has it's claws. I said goodbye, got back in my truck, used the hand sanitizer, and drove home.

If I wasn't allergic to cats, I would've loved to bring this one home! It was really hard to leave it.

Can anyone tell me why someone who has a cat would let it roam free like this without any identification? I hate seeing them plastered along the roadside! I would no more do that than I would let my kids play in the street!
