I have been having an on again/off again relationship with our ZDM inventory database. ZDM is running on a SLES 10 OES2 server with GWMobile on it as well. When I first tried installing Zen Inventory Server (after GWM) everything installed except I could not connect to the inventory database. Months later it had suddenly started connecting. A couple of weeks ago I have lost my connection once again.

Here is an abbreviated /var/log/novell/zenworks/inv/zeninvservice log file for what I am getting:

ZENInv - Server Config: The severconfig service start is pending...
ZENInv - Server Config: Getting Cascade INit time
ZENInv - Server Config: Database Location Policy DN is cn=Server Package_OES:Linux:ZENworks Database,ou=XXX,o=XXX
ZENInv - Server Config: Unable to connect to the database: NOT CONNECTED *This line is repeated almost 50 times
ZENInv - Server Config: Inv Server not configured properly. Error code: 622
ZENInv - Server Config: Error Type 15 Error 622
ZENInv - Status Reporting: Messages are written into XML file for DN=CN=Inventory Service_OES.OU=ADM.O=SBM
ZENInv - Status Reporting: Number of records to add are: 1 for DN=CN=Inventory Service_OES.OU=ADM.O=SBM
ZENInv - Status Reporting: Adding record 0 for DN=CN=Inventory Service_OES.OU=ADM.O=SBM
ZENInv - Status Reporting: Number of modified records are: 0 for DN=CN=Inventory Service_OES.OU=ADM.O=SBM
ZENInv - Server Config: Error Type 15 Error 622

The only thing that has happened to the system is that it has been restarted before this problem came back, no changes have been made to OES, eDirectory, Zenworks, or anything else on the system. I don't know why it just started working after a couple of months the last time or why it has stopped now. Please let me know what I should try, or if there are any other log files that I should check. Thanks!
