Have a newly refreshed (i.e., flattened and reinstalled everything) Win2k PC, NW client 4.90 sp2. The login to the network is successful, and you can see all the specific drive mappings in My computer. But, whenever you double-click to open a network drive, the window for the drive opens, the status bar indicates the number of objects in the window, but nothing shows up in the window. The "application" becomes unresponsive, and you have to end task to get out of it. As a result, the desktop is gone (just the wallpaper), and then you have to CTRL-ALT-DEL to shutdown, and even that hangs.

Any ideas on what the issue could be? could this be an Explorer issue, maybe?

Only protocol in use is TCP/IP; double-checked network connection settings, netbios is disabled (not used). Event logs don't show anything unusual other than the server service didn't start, but we are not using file and print sharing (no peer to peer). As far as we can tell, this system is set up identically to our other systems, but it is having this issue.

Any ideas?
