I have a SLES 10.1 + OES2 installed on a Dell 2970. The volumes are
managed under evms. It works fine until I add another PERC controller
with an external drive array. The BIOS utilities see it and I setup
the new array. It is unpartitioned space. The original controler is
still primary.

When it boots, it complains about a missing superblock on sda1 and
goes into maintenance mode. If I unplug the drive array, leaving the
second controller, it will boot up fine. If I change fstab to use the
by-id device, it boots fine and the new array shows up as sda.

How can I convince the system not to try to mount the new drive array
as sda and put it at sdc where it belongs?
