I have one BM3.7 server with one NIC installed. I would like to use
this
BM server for both a Firewall and Proxy server.

Do I need two NIC's in the server with the server placed between the
router
and hub on my network or can I do this with only one NIC and the
server
placed anywhere on my network? If the second scenario is possible
this
would be my
first choice but the thing I am still confused about is how the BM
server
in either
case should be configured as far as public and/or private interfaces
and IP
addresses.

I currently have the proxy portion working on the BM server configured
with
the NIC as
a private interface using my router's private IP as my default route
with
workstations pointing to my BM server's private IP with thier
browsers.

If it matters, we have only one public IP address (static) assigned by
our
ISP and
all web server and FTP services are on another server on our network.
I do have both Craig's books, thank goodness, but I think I'm just
making
it more dificult than it is.

Any help straightening out my twisted mind would be appreciated.
