We are about to invest in new server-hardware and migrate to VMWare ESX.
We ordered 2 HP ProLian DL460 with lots of memory and HP MSA2000 SAN-solution.
We will run VMWare ESX Standard with failover.

As backup-solution we choose Backup Exec, but first VMWare Consolidata Backup to move the VMs til a backup-proxy. Then BE to beckup on tape.
This secure our VMs, but as file-backup the VMWare CB support access til the filesystem.
The catastrophic issues that VMWare CB only support file-access to NTFS.

Without the need of more BackupExec lisenses, the boss deside to ditc Novell and go for Win2008 Server. :-S
Im strongly against this chooise, but what can i do.

What can you all say to me what argument against Win2008 i can use to prevent this? Most use is file and print, but i must agree the Domain-login with only one useraccount is some sort a advantage against NW. Now the new OES2 SP1 gives an AD-solution, but this is not easy to setup.

Anyone that can help me in this discussion?
