We have an ancient but still required DOS database application (I
know, I know, but it still works) which is experiencing a problem
since migrating from Netware 6.x to Open Enterprise 2 SP1 Linux 64bit.

All data was transferred from NSS volumes under Netware to NSS volumes
under OES2.

Most of our Windows clients (XP Pro) are running the Novell Client
4.91 SP2, connecting to the OES2 server and the first time they launch
the application everything works fine, but when they exit the
application freezes and all files in the directory are deleted except
for the executable. The same client connecting to the old Netware
sever can run the application perfectly every time with no problems.

I tried upgrading several of the clients to Novell Client 4.91 SP5 but
they behave exactly the same way.

I have one older machine running client version 4.90 SP2, and that one
client is able to run the application from the OES2 server flawlessly
each and every time.

I would consider downgrading all our clients to 4.90 SP2, but Novell
doesn't seem to offer that client version for download anywhere and we
deleted the installer a while back once 4.91 became our preferred

I'm not really sure where to proceed from here, so I've crossposted
this both to n.s.oes.linux.storage-and-backup and
n.s.oes.client.windows because the problem could lie with either.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any advice.
