Folks,

I'm re-installing my first OES 2 SP 1 on SUSE 10 server (learning as I go). The first installation I had problems with the CIFS authentication, and discovered that setting it to eDir instead of 3rd party allowed me to sign in from my Win XP clients. This second installation (I'm using eDir) seems to have another issue, which so far I haven't been able to figure out.

Here is the cifs.log entries from a failed login;

Feb 5 14:58:42 SACS-Novell CIFS[31152]: CRITICAL: AUTH: Failed to fetch credentials of User : cn=lyndesc,ou=sacs,o=fcsu Nmasldap-error : -16049 , ProxyUser- cn=cifsProxyUser-SACS-Novell,ou=sacs,o=fcsu . Check Configuration
Feb 5 14:58:42 SACS-Novell CIFS[31152]: CRITICAL: AUTH: GetMD4Hash Failed.
Feb 5 14:58:42 SACS-Novell CIFS[31152]: WARNING: CODIR: Failed to authenticate User : lyndesc
Feb 5 14:58:42 SACS-Novell CIFS[31152]: CRITICAL: AUTH: tempSES->nwLoginError is -16049

I can log in just fine from the Novell client. I'm afraid the information in the log doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Can anyone explain what the errors might mean?

What might be misconfigured?

Thanks in advance!
